Avondale Mazda

Often times, for a new car model to hit the marketplace, one must go. Mazda recently announced that would be the case with the Mazda CX-7, as the model will be discontinued in the U.S. at the end of the 2012 car cycle.

While it's an unfortunate reality, don't think it's because the CX-7 did poorly in terms of sales or availability here in the greater Avondale area. The SUV sold over 35,000 units nationwide last year; it just suffered from a bit of an identity crisis. At 184.3 inches long, the CX-7 was considered too small to be an SUV, but too big to be classified in the compact crossover class. Mazda already has its replacement lined up, and it's a familiar face, too.

For years, the undeniably powerful MAZDA RX-8 and RX-7 held a rather prestigious title as being some of the hardest to find foreign coupes on the market. They were lauded for their iconic style and desirable performance, making them a much sought-after ride for true speed enthusiasts everywhere.
