Mazda Pairs Up with SCRAMP for More Racing Fun

Back in 2001, Mazda North American Operations and the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula, also known as SCRAMP, paired together to operate one of the most well-known natural road race tracks in the world, and recently, Mazda and SCRAMP decided to renew that partnership for another five years.
With the new agreement, Mazda will continue to hold the track's naming rights, as the track is now known as Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, until 2016 and host both auto and motorcycle races at the famed track. Not only does Mazda get its name on the track, but its employees at North American headquarters have also adopted a passion for racing and all the events that go on at Raceway Laguna Seca. It's reflected in their work to improve the facility, which now has widened track runoff areas, new spectator monitors, permanent pit lane garages, and hospitality suites that offer many luxury amenities.
Here at Avondale Mazda, serving drivers in Avondale, Phoenix, and Chandler, we think it's neat to see how Mazda can create a positive impact on a smaller, community level, as they have in Monterey, giving both the county and automaker something to be proud of, while also having some fun seeing cars race across the natural surface.
