Mazda CX-5 Fuel Economy Rating Zooms Ahead of Competitors

The crossover market is taking off, and no one knows this better than the brilliant minds at Mazda. With models like the the Mazda CX-7 and Mazda CX-9 already under their belt, it's clear that the company is dedicated to providing drivers in the greater Avondale area and beyond with a vehicle that's both fuel efficient and spacious.
Of course, both vehicles so far tend to lend themselves more to the spacious side of the spectrum than the fuel-efficient side. That's where the all-new 2013 Mazda CX-5 comes in, however, and we here at Avondale Mazda are quite excited for it.
Just how efficient is the new Mazda compact crossover? The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently release its estimates for the vehicles fuel economy, and it's safe to say that everyone in the automotive industry was quite impressed. In its introductory model year, the 2013 Mazda CX-5 clocks in at a class-leading 26 mpg city/35 mpg highway (29 mpg combined) in its entry-level trim.
The starting trim for the CX-5 features a 2.0-liter engine, six-speed manual transmission, and a front-wheel drive platform. From there, drivers can step things up a bit, opting for a six-speed automatic, which only takes three highway miles off of its fuel economy rating. Meanwhile, choosing an all-wheel drive option only sacrifices one mile per gallon, making it a viable option that still achieves an impressive fuel economy. We know we certainly can't wait to offer test drives for it on our lot at 10675 W Papago Fwy Avondale, AZ 85323.
