Mazda2 Zooms Around the 'Wall of Death'

Scaling the 'Wall of Death' is no easy task, as it takes a lot of skill and fortitude to ride a vehicle of any kind at almost 90-degrees in a 31-foot long circle. That sort of thing is generally left to daredevil motorcyclists, but Mazda had other ideas. The automaker recently set out to accomplish the famed feat with its very own Mazda2 hatchback.

Enlisting the help of the Demon Drome crew, the foremost experts when it comes to all things 'Wall of Death,' the Mazda2 successfully propelled itself around the infamous contraption to the amazement of everyone who was there to witness it, and those who have seen the video on the internet. In order to make a successful climb, however, the Mazda2 did have a few modifications to handle the pressure that is twice the force of gravity. Taking off the fog lights, and re-tuning the suspension system did the trick just fine, and the Mazda2 was ready to go.

Once everything was set, Demon Drome leader Dynomyte Dave hopped in the Mazda2 and began to slowly creep up around the edge of the 'Wall of Death.' As the compact hatchback got some momentum going, Dynomyte Dave stepped on the gas of the 100 horsepower, 1.5-liter four-cylinder sending it around the wooden planks of the structure at full speed.

It was truly a sight to behold, as the Mazda2 made what seemed to be impossible, possible. To see the video for yourself, check out the YouTube page at the automaker's official consumer publication, Zoom Zoom Magazine, at http://www.youtube.com/user/zoomzoommag.
