Saying Goodbye to the Mazda RX-8 and RX-7

For years, the undeniably powerful MAZDA RX-8 and RX-7 held a rather prestigious title as being some of the hardest to find foreign coupes on the market. They were lauded for their iconic style and desirable performance, making them a much sought-after ride for true speed enthusiasts everywhere. Many car dealerships had a hard time keeping these sleek rides in stock, and we here at Avondale Mazda know that the Japanese automaker put every resource at their disposal into ensuring that they exceeded the expectations of car-buyers around the world.

That is why it's safe to say that the rest of the world was feeling the same heartbreak that we were here at 10675 W Papago Fwy Avondale, AZ 85323 upon hearing  of the RX-8 and RX-7's discontinuation. The RX-8, which featured the company's rotary engine might not be produced any longer, but that hasn't stopped the Japanese automaker from encouraging us to not lose hope for the vehicle's possible comeback.

After all, the choice to retire the Mazda RX-8 has little to do with public interest, and more to do with global emissions ratings and technological investments at Mazda's facotories. "There is no 'official' end of sales, but yea, production has ceased on RX-8," wrote Jeremy Barnes, a Mazda North American Operations spokesman, in response to Inside Line. "Cars will continue to be sold through Mazda dealers as stock allows."1

Models like MAZDA2 are begining to gain some serious momentum for the Japanese automaker, and the MAZDA3 is another model that we wouldn't be surprised to see gain some serious market share in 2012. You can test drive either of these models or any of the other new Mazda models that we keep in stock, simply by either dialing (888) 879-9106 or by sending in a contact form online.

Or, if you'd simply like to learn more about the new and used Mazda models that we carry, then make sure to browse the inventory and showroom sections of our website. Once there, you'll find a wide range of information on specific models, like the Mazda CX-7 and MAZDA5, as well as the wide selection of used cars that we carry too.
