Mazda Fights Back to Normal production

While a number of Japanese automakers have been facing hardships following the March 11th earthquake and tsunami, there is one that has triumphed like no other. Faced with supply shortages, damage to factories, and repairs, many automakers from Japan claimed that they would not return to full production until fall or later. Mazda, however, has not only returned to full production, returned to all of their standard operations, including overtime and holiday shifts.

We here at Avondale Mazda are thrilled to hear this news. After all, Mazda's return to full production is good news for us and our customers. Unlike the many other car-buyers out there who choose to invest in a different brand, our loyal customers won't be faced with inventory shortages that spell headaches all around.

"Our return to normal production in Japan testifies to the courage and ingenuity of the Japanese people and our colleagues there," says Jeff Guyton, President and CEO, Mazda Motor Europe. "This puts us in a strong position to sustain and grow our business in Europe, recognizing both the great lineup we have in showrooms today, and also the superb new vehicles, coming with SKYACTIV Technology."1

Mazda gave the world one more reason to remember them when they released their financial forecast for the year. It projects a 2.19 trillion yen ($27 billion) sales revenue. This is a huge jump from last year's sales. Overall, is a 20 billion yen ($247.26 million) operating profit and  a net income of 1 billion yen ($12.4 million).

What is contributing to Mazda's growth? A number of different factors, really. Just to name a few of the steps Mazda is taking to increase their market share are the impending launch of their next-generation lineup, featuring SKYACTIV technology and KODO design language. Another big move for Mazda is their business development in Mexico and Brazil.

Of course, here in the United States, we are just excited to hear that there will be no shortage of current models on our lot at 10675 W Papago Fwy Avondale, AZ 85323. Everything else, however, certainly contributes to our growing pride in carrying the Mazda brand at our dealership.
